Don't manage feedback alone. Invite teammates to help triage requests, respond to users, and keep your roadmap updated. Control who can do what with simple role-based permissions.

Overview

Access team settings from Admin → Settings → Members & Teams (/admin/settings/members). The page has three tabs: Members, Teams, and Roles.

Note:
The old Team Members page now redirects here. Any bookmarked links to the previous URL land on the Members tab automatically.

Roles

Every teammate has a role that determines what they can configure. Quackback ships four role presets, from broadest to narrowest access: Owner, Admin, Manager, and Contributor.

For the full breakdown of what each role can do, see Understand roles and permissions. The Roles tab in Members & Teams shows the same permission catalogue read-only, so you can check exactly what a role grants before assigning it.

Invite team members

  1. Go to Admin → Settings → Members & Teams
  2. Click "Invite member"
  3. Enter their email address
  4. Select a role
  5. Click Send invite

The invitee receives an email with a link to join your workspace.

Pending Invitations

Pending invitations are shown at the top of the Members tab. From there you can:

  • View who has been invited
  • Resend invitations
  • Cancel pending invitations

Manage members

View Team Members

The team page shows:

  • Member name and email
  • Role badge

The member count is displayed at the top of the list.

Change Role

  1. Find the member in the list
  2. Click the ... menu button on the right
  3. Select a new role
  4. Confirm the change

Changes take effect immediately.

Remove Member

  1. Find the member in the list
  2. Click the ... menu button
  3. Select Remove from team
  4. Confirm removal

Removed members:

  • Are converted to a portal user
  • Lose access to the admin dashboard
  • Can still interact with the public feedback portal
  • Their comments and activity history remain

Warning:
You cannot remove yourself, and every workspace needs at least one Owner.

Teams

Group members into teams to mirror how your organization is actually structured, like "Support" or "Product". Create and manage teams from the Teams tab in Members & Teams.

Teams do more than group people. You can assign conversations and tickets directly to a team, and use a team as the target for routing rules so incoming work lands with the right group automatically. Each team can distribute assigned work to its members manually, round-robin, or load-balanced across whoever's online.

Tip:
Set up teams before you turn on routing rules. Routing an inbox to a team that doesn't exist yet means someone has to reassign everything by hand.

Authentication

By default, team members sign in with a password or a magic link. You can also enable GitHub and Google sign-in, require two-factor authentication, or connect single sign-on.

See Configure team security for the full set of options.

Best Practices

Start Small

Tip:
Begin with a small number of Owners and Admins. Add Managers and Contributors as your feedback volume grows.

Clear Ownership

Assign specific team members to monitor certain boards or topics.

Regular Reviews

Periodically review team access:

  • Remove members who no longer need access
  • Audit admin permissions
  • Check for unused invitations

Grant the Right Role

Note:
Reserve Owner and Admin for people who need full workspace control. Manager and Contributor cover most day-to-day feedback and support work - see Understand roles and permissions for the full breakdown.
